How to get your pool started

From a new account to a pool full of players in nine steps. Each step shows the screen you'll see. The one that matters most is step 7: invite your players.

Sign up

Go to the Sign Up page.

  1. Enter a Username (12 characters max).
  2. Enter your Email address. Use one you can check right now: you'll need to confirm it.
  3. Enter your Password and type it again in Confirm password.
  4. Tick the box to accept the Terms and Conditions, then click Submit.

You'll see a page telling you to check your email.

Confirm your email

You must confirm your email address before you can log in.

  1. Open the email from PGAPickEm. The subject is PGAPickEmPool.com Registration Successfull. It can take up to three minutes to arrive.
  2. Click the link in the email.
  3. The Log In page opens and says Your email is confirmed. Enter your password to log in.

The link doesn't log you in by itself. It confirms your email and opens the Log In page. You still enter your password (step 3).

No email? Please make sure you check your spam folder.

Log in

After you click the confirmation link, your username is already filled in.

  1. Enter your Password. Passwords are case-sensitive.
  2. Click Login.

Next time, just use Log In at the top of any page. Forgot your password? Use the retrieve link on the Log In page.

Create your pool

After you log in you land on the invitation page, where you either join a pool or create one.

  1. Choose Create A Pool and click Submit.
  2. Type your Pool Name, for example Sunday Birdies. That's the only thing Create asks for.
  3. Click Create.

The site creates your pool and makes you the pool admin. You set the invitation code in Pool Settings (step 6).

Choose the name carefully. The pool name can't be changed later, and it becomes your Pool Title.

Joining a friend's pool instead? Choose Join A Pool, look up the pool name, enter the invitation code and click JOIN.

Play as Admin

Every time you log in, you log in as a user (player mode), so you can play in your own pool.

  1. Open Pool > Pool Admin / User.
  2. Choose Pool Admin in Play as and click Submit.
  3. Now the Pool menu pages work: Pool Settings, Approve Users, Manage Users, Edit News and Invite Users. In admin mode you can also change players' picks after a tournament locks.

Opened a Pool page and got the Pool Admin / User page instead? You're in player mode. Switch to Pool Admin, click Submit, then go back to the page you wanted.

Fill out Pool Settings and click Save Settings

Open Pool > Pool Settings, fill out every field and click Save Settings. Save Pool Settings before you invite anyone: the invitation uses your saved settings and invitation code.

Invite your players, one email at a time Most important

After you save Pool Settings, open Pool > Invite Users. Inviting players from this page makes joining much easier for them.

  1. Check the Pool name and Invitation code shown at the top.
  2. Type one player's email address in User's Email.
  3. Click Send.
  4. Repeat for every player, one email at a time.

Each invitation link only works for the email it was sent to. Send every person their own invitation. They won't have to sign up first or confirm their email.

Got the Pool Admin / User page? Choose Pool Admin in Play as, click Submit, then go back to Pool > Invite Users (step 5).

What your players see

New players don't need to sign up first and don't need to confirm their email. Clicking the link in your invitation counts as confirming it.

  1. They open the invitation email from PGAPickEm with the subject PGAPickEmPool.com - Invitation.
  2. They click the link. It only works for their email.
  3. The join page opens with your pool and their email already filled in.
  4. They choose a Username and Password, type the password again and click Join.
  5. That's it: they're in your pool and can make their picks.

Already have an account and logged in? They'll see Click Here to Join : your pool at the top of the page. One click opens the join page for your pool.

Tell your players to look in their spam folder if the invitation doesn't show up.

Post news for your pool

News you post shows on your pool's Home page when your players log in. Use it for reminders and weekly updates.

  1. Open Pool > Edit News.
  2. Write your message (bold, lists, colors, links and emoji are all there; up to 20,000 characters) and click Save News.
  3. Your players see it on the Home page when they log in.

Running the pool all season

The site administrator loads each tournament, the field and the scores from ESPN. Weekly winners and season totals update automatically, so there's nothing to calculate.

Approve Users

Enable or disable a player. A disabled player is taken out of all pool calculations and can't log in.

Manage Users

Add a player (sends an invitation), delete a player, or reset a player's password.

Deleting is permanent

Deleting a player removes their account, invitations, picks and scores. It can't be undone.

After a tournament locks, only you, in admin mode, can change a player's picks.

Post news for your players. It shows on the pool's Home page.
